The BEN Committee will regularly be looking to establish sub-committees to help with such specific ongoing efforts, such as the annual National Gathering, website development, resource reviews, newsletter articles, regional presentation, building the BirdEd Listserv, and project funding. If you are interested in helping with the work of BEN, please respond to the Committee's "Requests for Assistance" as they are released.
Share your good ideas and success models! The BEN listserv provides a vehicle for sharing good bird education ideas and models, tips and tricks, funding success, etc...with your colleagues. Let us hear from you!
Plan to join us for our second National Gathering in February 2009. Dates and location will be announced soon. Sessions will include best practices in bird education, funding bird education programs, the national bird education strategy, connecting bird education to bird conservation, and many more timely topics. Birding field trips will be offered to local hot spots.
CEE hosted the first National Gathering "Bird Conservation Through Education" in February 2007 at The Crossings in Austin, Texas. Click here ( 17.4 MB PDF) for a copy of the conference program. |
